We are delighted to offer shares in Surrey Fortune, who we purchased for £35,000 at the recent Goffs sale and was earmarked by Billy Aprahamian as one of the best horses of Day 2. He’s a ‘racier type’, looks quite forward and will be targeting a bumper in the late Spring. Longer term we expect him to jump a fence as a 2 to 2.5 miler. The sire Soldier of Fortune, son of the mighty Galileo, won the Irish Derby in 2007 and now stands alongside Getaway at Coolmore. He’s out of a half-sister to Sholokhov (sire of multiple Grade 1 winner Don Cossack). His top offspring include Gr.1 Juvenile Hurdle winner Mega Fortune who was also runner-up in the Gr.1 Triumph Hurdle and Slowmotion, 5-time winner including a Gr.2 Juvenile Hurdle, Gr.3 and Listed Mares Chase. As you can see from the page there is plenty of blacktype and Surrey Fortune is closely related to Knappers Hill.

We’ve certainly got value and I would expect him to be a Spring 2023 runner. He’s already back at the yard and will be broken in and ridden for about 6 weeks before going out the field.
