Valentine’s Week Update
A flat racing update for a change!
Thanks to those syndicate owners who have all responded to the various events happening through the next few weeks starting with the visit to Hughies on the 24th. Both Surrey Belle and Surrey Charm are currently just trotting daily, whilst Surrey Fire is doing two steady canters. We’re really looking forward to seeing all three of them and hearing Hughie’s plans for the season ahead in less than 2 weeks time.
Surrey Mist is still turned out and is enjoying the current mild weather on the Norfolk coast! He has recently started walking twice a day, and those walks will build up in length throughout the month. Surrey Force is doing one canter up Warren Hill daily which will increase to two canters three times a week from tomorrow. He will also start cantering up the Warren Hill grass gallops from next week. Kevin said he is looking very well and is strengthening up nicely. Kevin has been happy with his progress over the winter and still plans to have him ready to run in the second half of March. When Mist comes back into training we’ll organise a visit for the Mist and Force horse owners.
Surrey Noir has had a really good week of cantering and started on Warren Hill this week. He has been doing lots of nice steady long flat canters and Charlie is very happy with his progress so far. Surrey Shadow is cantering and his work is gradually stepping up – he loves his training! He’s still on course for his debut in about 7 weeks time. The racehorse owners will see both of them on Warren Hill on March 9th.
