Winning debut for Anytime Will do

Beforehand there were many whispers from Alan King and Paul Nicholls, who were both in attendance, that their horses were very much respected and expected to go on to much bigger races, so we were looking forward to seeing how we fared against those and the others in the 10 horse race.

Anytime settled fairly well, kept up with the pace and then Harry Skelton kicked him on for home with 3 furlongs to go. Despite running green he left them all in his wake showing searing pace and actually going further away from the King trained, Rooney owned, Newtown Boy. A horse the Rooney’s paid £100k for.

The Racing Post gave him Taunton’s Star Performer for a ‘decisive win’ and there’s no doubt that this really is a horse to watch, from a race where there is expected that many winners will emerge from it.
