August 7th Update

We weren’t sure we would have a runner in August but Surrey Charm is over her bruised heal and will hopefully head to Kempton next week, either on Tuesday 16th in a fillies novice race over 1 mile at Kempton’s afternoon meeting or the next day in a novice restricted 7f contest in the evening meeting. It is very likely that after this third race, when she will get an opening handicap rating, that she’ll have an extended break and given every chance to strengthen and take advantage of her (hopefully) competitive mark.

Surrey Mist is fine after his Goodwood run and will now have a 4 week break from the gallops. He’ll then come back into training and will be looking to race towards the end of September when hopefully finally he’ll run in a race with conditions to suit.

The NH horses are all well – Gran Luna has now completed a field turn out and horse walking exercise. She is now back in and Nicky will commence ridden exercise shortly. She will probably have a rescan in 3 or 4 weeks and then we hope to get the green light to commence full training. Surrey Quest and Surrey Lord are back doing light work while Surrey Fortune will stay out in the field, probably until the weather changes.

Surrey Knight has now completed laser therapy and had the all clear to move to Sophie Buckley’s. He’s on the next stage of rehab which will start with some time in the sun!  Once settled we will arrange a trip for the syndicate owners to see him and the work they do at Culworth Grounds.

Surrey Knight

Surrey Noir has had a good week with his training being stepped up and now doing some quicker work which he continues to take in his stride – if that continues it certainly won’t be too long before he makes his debut.

Surrey Noir - could be special!

Surrey Gold continues to progress with his work and he’ll be ready when there’s a change in the weather pattern while Surrey Belle is on a 4 week break, just to give her some downtime from the rigours that she’s been under. We know Hughie likes the fillies novice over a mile at Newbury on October 22nd so as a hunch, all going well, that’s when she’ll make her debut.
