Weekly Update - 21st Nov

We hope you’ve all had a good week. A fairly slow one for us as the NH action continues in earnest, although the trainers are crying out for softer conditions, as are our horse racing owners for both Gran Luna and Surrey Quest.
We spoke with Nicky on Monday and he expressed his frustration with the ground, and especially with some courses calling the going good when its much firmer than that. Both horses are well and ready to go – he’s happy with both of them. Surrey Quest does need it soft so he wasn’t declared for Kempton tomorrow, he has entries at Hereford on Wednesday and Newbury on Friday. There isn’t a great deal of rain about so we may have to wait a little longer although Newbury are heavily watering so fingers crossed that he runs in the 12.10, a class 3 novice hurdle over 2.5 miles.
Gran Luna can go on good ground (although we would prefer some give) so she is the most likely to run to run in Hereford’s 2.40 class 3 Mares handicap Hurdle over 2 miles 3.5 furlongs. We feel she’s pretty well handicapped right now so looking for her to have a decent start to the season.
The other active runner is Surrey Princess who we were going to enter into a race at Chelmsford but she’s picked up a slight knock and she’s being watched right now. We still hope to making an entry for her for Lingfield on the 30th but we’ll know more midweek.
There’s no real other news on any of the other horses – as they were a week ago!
