Belle Show’s her Strength at Haydock

Surrey Belle led from pillar to post under a super David Egan ride to notch up her 3rd, and best, career win at Haydock on heavy ground which emphasis what a rounded horse she is with her other 2 wins coming on the all weather. Belle was giving weight to G2 2nd and deservedly favourite, Gimemefive and so it was a tough battle in the home straight as the two market leaders pulled way clear of the rest of the field. Under Egan’s encouragement Belle always held the upper hand and won by 3/4 length finally breaking our Haydock duck!

Belle and David Egan before the race

Surrey Belle has an entry in the October HIT sale and after that performance there will be no shortage of suitors, especially from the NH fraternity. She may have one last outing in the Bath’s Listed Beckford Stakes but she’s already done more than enough to advertise her credentials for any possible suitor.
