Shadow Shines At Southwell!
Surrey Shadow had three promising runs as a three year old before injury ended his season prematurely just as he was getting into his stride. After a 220 day break he made his 2025 reappearance at Southwell in a 7f novice contest. On paper he had the best form in the race but worries about the surface (he’d only ran on turf) and match fitness tempered the excitement. We needn’t have worried as the team at Tom Clover’s had him in super shape and he stretched out under a persuasive Neil Callan drive to win cosily to break his maiden. He’ll certainly improve for the run and will now eye the Lincoln meeting at Doncaster at the end of March. One to watch in 2025!
