Surrey Gold You Beauty !!

Surrey Gold produced a barnstorming performance under Rob Hornby to win going away in a maiden stakes at Wolves, his last race as a two year old. We have always known that Gold will be better over longer, on turf, when he matures and grows stronger so to put in such an impressive performance over a far from optimum trip bodes extremely well for 2021. In a fairly fast run pace Rob Hornby tracked the Godolphin favourite throughout until the last bend and then the two pulled away to battle for the honours. Rob even dropped his whip in the last furlong adding to the drama, but Gold gamely battled on edging Bridesman into his aptly named spot!
Surrey Gold will now have a very easy winter and will return for the better races in April - one for your tracker that’s for sure!
