The Princess of Chelmsford!
Friday nights in Essex are etched in folklore and Surrey Princess added her own tale when romping home and breaking her maiden in the lucky last at Chelmsford. She was pretty relaxed going into the race and under crack Amateur Simon Walker we were pretty confident of a good run and were rightly sent off as favourite.
The race went as planned with Simon tucking Princess in just off the pace before making a race ending move in the final turn, stretching clear of the field. She did idle in front but was always doing enough to beat market rival Fen Tiger by a length. It caps a great 8 days for our two George Baker trained runners following on from Surrey Mist’s win at Lingfield last week.
Cue more celebrations, our 4th different winner in the last 7 runs since Christmas, the syndicate owners are really living the dream right now!
