School’s Back Update

What a glorious day today after a pretty grey and gloomy August, although that doesn’t help Surrey Gold who is the only horse ready to run right now. We are just going to have to be patient with him and with 10 weeks left of the turf season there’s plenty of time to get 2/3 runs in.

George is back from his holiday and delighted with the two there. Surrey Princess has bulked up really nicely and now will turn some of that last bit of belly into muscle and then an entry will be made for her. Surrey Mist is also well and he will be back running in a couple of weeks. George will come back with some Sunday dates for the owners to meet up, see the two on the gallops and then have lunch in his barn. Having said that, George really does welcome the syndicate owners to the Robins Farm yard at any time.

We are looking forward to visiting Nicky’s on Tuesday 14th – there’s going to be 25 horse racing owners there so a little bit of a logistical problem but it will be fun and great to see how Gran Luna and Surrey Quest are coming along. Very nicely is the word from the stables!

Lastly, Surrey Knight has stepped up to doing two canters up Warren Hill and he seems to have no problem with this exercise. The next step will be for him to start galloping but we are not quite there yet, but the signs are extremely promising and with the sold out sign now up, well done to those syndicate owners who have bought in, we have high hopes.

Thanks to all those who replied with regard to shares in our next horses. We are aiming to buy three yearlings this Autumn and as you may be aware we have built up a fairly extensive database over the past 8 months and hoping to welcome new owners but will give first refusal to our current owners so if you are interested then please let us know.

The next two months have the makings of a very exciting period rivaling the glory month of May. Race horse ownership really does have it’s up and downs, it’s fair to say the past three months have been on the lower spectrum but all the reports we are getting from the yards mean that there is so much to look forward to.

Have a great week ahead
